Child Safety Standards
We are committed to protecting children and preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) across our website and mobile apps (including any WebView versions). These standards outline our zero-tolerance policies, reporting mechanisms, enforcement procedures, and legal compliance.
1) Scope
These standards apply to all users, content, and features on africanamericanunion.com and our official mobile applications. “Users” include individuals, organizations, moderators, and any third parties interacting with our services.
2) Definitions
- Child: Any person under the age of 18.
- CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material): Any content that depicts, threatens, or advocates sexual abuse, exploitation, or endangerment of a child, including real or computer-generated imagery.
- CSAE: Child sexual abuse and exploitation, including grooming, trafficking, solicitation, and any conduct that sexualizes minors.
3) Published Standards Against CSAE
We prohibit, without limitation:
- Uploading, sharing, requesting, linking to, or otherwise distributing CSAM.
- Sexualization of minors, grooming behaviors, solicitation, or attempts to obtain sexual content from or involving a child.
- Doxxing, threats, or coercion involving minors.
- Any depiction of child nudity or sexual conduct (including manipulated AI/CGI/“deepfake” content).
Violations may lead to content removal, account suspension or termination, preservation of evidence, and reporting to relevant authorities as required by law.
4) How to Report Concerns
If you encounter CSAM or CSAE on our platform, report it immediately using one of the following channels:
- In-app / On-site report: Use the “Report” option on posts, profiles, or messages (footer menu → Contact-Us → subject: Child safety).
- Web form: https://www.africanamericanunion.com/contact-us.py
- Email: safety@africanamericanunion.com
- Emergency contact: urgent@africanamericanunion.com
When safe to do so, include links, usernames, timestamps, and screenshots to help us act quickly. Do not download or forward suspected CSAM.
5) Our Response Process
- Initial review: We prioritize child-safety reports and aim to assess them promptly.
- Enforcement: Content removal and account action (suspension/termination) for confirmed violations.
- Evidence handling: We preserve relevant data in accordance with law and our Privacy Policy.
- Reporting: We report confirmed CSAM to competent authorities consistent with applicable law and platform obligations.
- User notification: Where appropriate and legally permissible, we will notify reporting users that action has been taken.
6) Moderation & Safety Measures
- Combination of user reports, automated signals, and human review to detect and address policy violations.
- Proactive measures against grooming, predatory behavior, and sexualization of minors.
- Rate-limits, block/mute tools, and keyword or behavior-based safeguards to reduce harm.
- Repeat-offender bans and, where required, escalation to relevant authorities.
Important: We do not allow the targeting of minors for any sexual or exploitative purpose. Attempts to bypass enforcement are prohibited.
7) Compliance with Child Safety Laws
We comply with applicable child protection, online safety, and data laws in the jurisdictions where we operate and where our users reside. Where required, we cooperate with law enforcement and child protection organizations and follow lawful data-preservation requests.
We also comply with platform-specific requirements (e.g., Google Play’s Child Safety Standards for Social category apps). For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
8) Age Restrictions
Our services are not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of 13, you may not create an account or submit content. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will take appropriate steps to remove it and any associated content.
9) Industry Guidance & Best Practices
We periodically review and update our practices in line with recognized industry guidance to combat online child sexual exploitation and abuse. We continuously improve moderator training, workflows, and tools to keep our platform safe.
